CONCERT OF JULIETA VENEGAS IN MOSCOW WITHIN THE FRAME OF PARTE MIA TOUR 2017

The star of the Latin American scene Julieta Venegas visited Russia for the first time and gave a concert in the full “Izvestia Hall” in Moscow. The singer is the Grammy winner, the six-time Grammy Latino winner, the multiple winner of the MTV and MTV Video Music Awards Latin America. Her songs have continuously topped the charts all over the world. Julieta is the author and the performer of the famous soundtrack “Me van a matar” to the film of the Oscar-winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu. She has duets with Nelly Furtado, Paulina Rubio, Diego Torres, Natalia Lafourcade and other popular Latin singers. And yet, during many years of her brilliant career, the star has never visited our country. It was the first time, when on 25th of April, 2017 within her European Parte Mia Tour 2017, Julieta visited the Russian capital, delighting fans with a wonderful acoustic program.

The star arrived to Moscow accompanied by Matias Saavedra and Sergio Silva, two of her permanent multi-instrumental musicians, who cleverly maneuvered between accordion, guitars, keyboards and other instruments. Despite such a chamber composition, the musicians were able to fill the hall with drive and bright Latin American emotions. By the middle of the program the audience could no longer stay seated and started singing, dancing and approaching the stage to make selfies with the artist.

It seemed that even Julueta herself did not expect such a warm welcome in cold Moscow. It was a pleasant surprise for the star that the audience understood her Spanish communication perfectly and accompanied her songs: many representatives of the Hispanic community of Moscow – students and expats from Spain, Mexico and other Latin American countries – were present at the concert. For them Julieta is a real idol, and her arrival was awaited with special trepidation. It also turned out that Julieta was a big fan of classical Russian literature, so the visit to Russia was especially long-waited for her. The singer’s team managed to walk through the main sights of Moscow and taste Russian cuisine. The singer still has many countries to visit with her tour; however we hope that Julieta Venegas will visit Russia again soon.

The concert was held with the support of the Mexican Embassy in the Russian Federation and the Cervantes Institute in Moscow.
